Sunil Gangopadhyay, the great writer  was born in Faridpur, Bangladesh. He has attained Masters in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. This famous writer had been written many famous novels which talk about different kinds of problems and show different types of views of our society.

Swati Bandopadhyay is his wife. On 26 February in 1967, Sunil Gangopadhyay married Swati Bandopadhyay and their only one son is named Souvik.
